The recent chapter starts with everyone riding the parade float throughout the city, all the while giant spirits follow them. As the spirits were about to crush the parade float, they, fortunately, got blocked by the barrier that was thanks to the Hayashi Band’s performance. Due to the barrier, they didn’t have to worry about the giant spirits but the smaller ones, who were the Ninomiya statues, several of them.
As one of the Ninomiya attacks with a wooden plank, Momo defends the parade float using her guard. Momo and Seiko continue protecting the parade float and its tires from the Ninomiya, who seem to be almost infinite in number. Looking at the enormous numerical difference between them and the spirits, Momo suggests taking out the Ombusman. Still, Seiko believes that allowing the Ombusman to rest in peace is their primary goal.
As the Hayashi band members were busy singing and keeping up the barrier, a massive pile of debris made its way toward the band. The band’s vocalist gets hit by one of the pieces and gets knocked out cold.
With no one singing the main song, the band cannot keep up the barrier, resulting in attacks from the more extensive spirits. The vocalist’s mic falls near Rin. Seiko asks her to grab the mic for her, but as she is about to hand the mic, Seiko grabs and throws her at the top of the parade float, where the rest of the Hayashi band members are performing.
Seiko instructs Rin to sing as a replacement for the main vocalist. Rin hesitantly declines, claiming she hasn’t sung since Mai’s accident. Without the barrier protecting them, things started to get heavy, making it hard for Okarun and the others to pull the parade float; this resulted in the other float pullers giving up, leaving Okarun the only one pulling the float.
The chapter concludes with Okarun pulling the parade float all by himself, and with the disappearance of the barrier, all sorts of spirits are able to attack the float freely.
We can expect Rin to step up, finally leaving her hesitancy behind to sing for the band. Her voice might help the Ombusman, who is Rin’s childhood friend, remember some memories, ultimately helping her rest in peace.
Conclusion
The difficulties for Seiko and the crew seem to be increasing, as with the barrier gone and the only band vocalist knocked out, they don’t have a chance of surviving unless Rin starts to sing.
